Shopping for baby clothes

(Sponsored post)

I’ve never liked shopping. I love new stuff like the next girl but I rarely enjoy the process of searching for new clothes. While I can quite happily wear the same stuff year after year just to avoid shopping sprees, my baby girl can’t. She is growing as babies do and we need to go up in size every couple of months. I also love to dress her in cute things even if my own “mum style” would remain slightly questionable! So yes, I do have to shop for Maia.

A few things I look for when buying clothes for my 6-month old baby are:

  1. Is it practical? The clothes need to be comfortable, easy to get her into and suitable for the season (aka the weather)
  2. Is it cute? No elaboration needed.
  3. Is it affordable? In case another growth spurt is around the corner, I’m not paying loads for something worn twice.
  4. Is it machine washable? Ain’t no one got time to hand wash baby clothes… not to mention to iron! I was gifted a cashmere baby jumper once. Nice. Thanks. Never used it.
  5. Is it durable? Will the colour and material last frequent washing in 60 degrees? Anything cooler and the poo stains stay on. I like to buy light pastel colours for Maia because even if the colour would fade they still look nice. Having most of her clothes similar colours will also reduce the burden of separating her laundry. And pastel colours compliment her fair skin and hair. ❤
Maia’s new cute onesie from lavendersun

I was kindly gifted a few items of my choosing by lavendersun. The adorable pink “I get it from my Mama” onesie and head band featured in the pictures tick most of my criteria (I haven’t washed it yet so I can’t comment on durability). The set is comfortable, practical , cute and doesn’t break the bank costing $11.95! Maia is 6-months old and she is wearing the size “3-6 months” but she’s always been a small baby and it was no surprise her onesie is a bit big for her. But look how happy she is! Now if only someone would tell mummy to stop wearing maternity clothes from 17kg ago!

Happy Monday lovelies!

xoxoxo,

Sini

PS. Remember to take off any headbands when your baby is sleeping to avoid the risk of suffocation!

That picture with you and Maia’s matching shirt is ADORABLE! I would love to hear what you have to say about my baby/children’s clothing site! (www.declanroe.com) Let me know if you think it is cute enough to leave a review about!
