On my 12th week of pregnancy I gave up – I need more belly friendly clothes!
My business wardrobe consists primarily of fitted dresses, pencil skirts and jackets. Dresses would now barely zip up thanks to my belly and boobs, and sitting down for 12 hours in a pencil skirt would probably be a health hazard anyway.
I’m still too small for proper maternity wear, and buying clothes now when I’m growing every week would feel a bit silly. But I need something I can breath in!
I had heard that Topshop has a nice and reasonably priced maternity line so I headed there!
I ended up buying:
- Black maternity jeans with wide waist band under the belly
- Black high waisted maternity leggings
- Denim maternity skirt
- Cute wrap shirt which wasn’t even from the maternity line but had good space for belly and the bow draws some attention off the rounding bump (or does it?)
- Black and golden Butterflytwists, super soft and comfy ballet flats with memory foam soles
Quite pleased with my finds! Wearing jeans to the office is more than questionable, but they are black so I’m hoping they’ll be alright with a smart top and a jacket! I’ll get proper smart maternity trousers once my bump grows.
Still on my shopping list is a new bra. Something softer and more supportive than my current bras. Hopefully I’ll be able to find something that’s still cute!
xoxoxo,
